Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) seeks a full-time Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team based in our Seattle office. Our dedicated team of four is the backbone of financial support for all four offices of our organization, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. A minimum two-year commitment to the position is expected.

The staff accountant will share the responsibilities for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions on an accrual basis, including payments to suppliers, contractors, and employee reimbursements as well as payroll functions. Proficiency in payroll processing software, SAP Concur, and MIP accounting software is highly desirable.

Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) seeks a full-time bilingual legal advocate to be placed in NWIRP’s Seattle office. This position will primarily be working with clients in the Unaccompanied Children Program, with the possibility of working with other individuals seeking NWIRP services. A minimum two-year commitment to the position is expected.

As a legal advocate, you will help provide legal assistance and advocacy under attorney supervision to unaccompanied children and youth facing removal (deportation) proceedings. In addition to working on the cases of NWIRP’s children and youth clients in immigration court, this position will also involve collaborating with attorneys in representing clients in applying for various forms of immigration protection, including Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) classification, asylum, VAWA self-petitions, U visas, T visas, and adjustment of status before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and in state court in order to obtain predicate SIJ findings for eligible clients. The legal advocate may also be assigned work relating to other immigration matters as needed.

Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) seeks a full-time, Grants and Contracts Associate to manage a portfolio of grants and contracts (local, state, federal government and private foundation grants and contracts) as part of NWIRP’s Grants and Contracts Unit. The selected applicant must be able to start their position as soon as possible. A minimum two-year commitment to the position is expected.

The Associate may be based out of any of NWIRP’s four offices: Granger, Seattle, Tacoma or Wenatchee, WA. At the time of this posting, NWIRP staff is operating in a hybrid model, and some in-office work will be expected of this position (at least two full days per week).

Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) seeks full-time English-Spanish bilingual attorneys to join NWIRP’s offices in Granger or Wenatchee. Applicants must be fluent in English and Spanish. Additional languages are encouraged. The selected applicants must be able to start their position in 2025, by September 1, 2025 or sooner. A minimum two-year commitment to the position is expected.

As a staff attorney, you will provide direct representation, individual consultations, and community outreach and education to immigrant community members seeking immigration protections before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the immigration courts. The staff attorney may also be assigned work relating to other immigration matters, including cases of people in immigration detention.

Under NWIRP’s current COVID policies, new staff members must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination (unless eligible for an exemption). Staff may choose to wear a face mask in the workplace but it is not currently required. At the time of this posting, NWIRP staff is operating in a hybrid model, and some in-office work will be expected of this position (at least two full days per week).

This position is expected to travel to immigration courts in Seattle or Tacoma and USCIS offices in Seattle, Spokane, or Yakima in Washington State (and occasionally in Portland, Oregon). A valid driver’s license will be required in order to meet these expectations. The position may involve occasional evening and weekend work hours.

Here at Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, we are looking to fill the role of CYAP Intake Coordinator with a JV/AmeriCorps member for the 2024-25 service year that begins in August. The Children and Youth Advocacy Program (CYAP) at Northwest Immigrant Rights Project provides legal assistance to immigrant youth in their immigration cases.

The CYAP Intake Coordinator will manage CYAP’s client intake process, where children and youth are given a detailed interview about their personal history. The Intake Coordinator will provide pro se assistance under the supervision of attorneys, and refer individuals to other resources for social service needs. The CYAP Intake Coordinator will also assist with case management and intakes for young immigrants eligible for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, including gathering documents and administrative work for our monthly legal clinics.

Fluency in English and another language, preferably Spanish, required (additional languages are welcome).
